One of the beautiful things about the gospel music community is the way we rally around and celebrate each other's talents. As songwriters and composers, our calling is sacred - using the gifts God gave us to touch souls and glorify His name through music.
But the creative process isn't always easy. There will be seasons of doubt, difficulty finding the right words or notes, frustrations with the business side - it's normal to feel discouraged at times. That's why we must commit to lifting each other up.
Whether it's a comment offering praise for their latest release, sharing their work widely, or meeting for coffee just to brainstorm, find small ways to encourage your fellow creatives. A few kind words could be what renews their passion to continue sharing their message with the world.
We all struggle at some point. So make yourself available - to listen without judgment, pray together, or celebrate each other's wins big and small. Through the ups and downs, focus on building each other's confidence in their God-given abilities.
The gifts within our community are too valuable not to cultivate. So let's walk alongside our songwriters and composers with love, reminding them that their importance doesn't diminish with every critic - only grows with every soul their music may touch. You've got this!
