Happy New Year! Wishing You a blessed Year..
The book of Psalms is filled with songs of praise and worship to God. Even in difficult times, the psalmists lifted their voices in praise. Psalm 117:1-2 tells us "Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever."
No matter what challenges we face, we can find strength and comfort in praising God. When our burdens feel heavy, focusing our thoughts on who God is and all He has done can give us a renewed sense of hope. God promises that if we lift Him up, He will draw near to us and lift us up as well (James 4:8).
Singing praises to God connects us to His presence and reminds us of truths we may forget during hard times. It reorients our mind and heart to what truly matters. As we magnify His name, we minimize our problems and realise that God is greater than any struggle we face.
The old gospel hymns are so powerful because they emphasize praising God no matter the circumstance. They remind us to make our praise a priority each day through our words, actions, attitudes and songs. When we worship, we participate in God's victory and allow His power to strengthen us from within.
Let us continue lifting high the name of Jesus through our music and lives. And let our praise be as bold and steadfast as that of the psalmist who said "I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1).
